Summary: Victorian Britain was a time of rapid social and economic change. In this buoyant climate, new technologies were developed for the supply of water, for sanitation, better lighting and heating and these had a major impact on the level of services in the home. This film looks at the technological advances which raised levels of comfort and convenience in the Victorian and Edwardian house, some of which remain an essential component of British house design and construction today.
