Summary: This workshop aims to introduce members of staff to the University's educational resource repository, edShare@GCU. Participants will discover what edShare can be used for and to utilise some of the basic functions of the repository, such as: uploading resources; applying a Creative Commons license and what this means; imputing metadata about a resource, and creating new versions of a resource. The session will also serve as an introduction to Open Educational Resources (OERs) by describing what OERs are, how you can create them, where you can find them and the benefits of incorporating them into your teaching and educational practices. The introductory edShare@GCU and OER staff workshop is suitable for academic and support staff who deliver teaching or are tasked with developing educational resources, and would like to learn more about the University’s educational resource repository and open education practices.
