| Summary: | Irene Dand describes her stay in hospital. She was admitted after having a swollen leg which was monitored at home. She had a very long wait for an ambulance, it turned up after seven and a half hours so she had to go to hospital by car. The admission went fine, A&E was busy but they kept everyone well informed. She was then moved to the coronary care ward which was a bit quieter. Her main problem was that she did not get a shower during her entire stay for three weeks. They were just given a basin of warm water for washing. The consultant was good, food ok but bland and very boring by week three! Her main problem was the very poor internal communication in the NHS. |
