Summary: Lynne describes her work with rehabilitation technologies, covering the trials, development phase and beneficiaries. She shows how her work has developed from her earlier work on the FLEX project which looked at how people interact with devices, to the ENVISAGE project. This is a collaborative project led by Phil Rowe. The work at GCU concentrates on falls and knee replacements. They work in the home and build rehabilitation hardware and software. This equipment encourages the patient to perform their exercises and to measure their progress and the benefits gained. It is based on user centred design, so they look at what the person needs and what devices they already use, then design something based on these facts. This is an unusual approach.
